What Personal Information do we collect and hold?

 

The types of Personal Information we may collect about you will depend upon the nature of your interaction with us. Most often, the Personal Information that we collect will be in the course of you making an accommodation enquiry or booking, and this information may include (but is not limited to) your name and personal contact details (including your postal address and email address).

Personal information may be collected by us and by our third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website.

Our website may include online forms that allow you to submit personal information (for example, online booking enquiry forms and feedback forms). Personal information that you choose to submit through these forms will be used for the purposes notified to you in that form, and otherwise for the purposes set out below.

We may also use various technological methods from time to time to track the visiting patterns of individuals accessing our websites, including but not limited to the methods set out below.

We use Google Analytics to help analyse how our visitors use our websites. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. Overseas disclosures

 

We do not send or disclose your Personal Information to overseas recipients and your data is stored and managed here in Australia.

 

When using a contact form on our website, any personal data you submit is encrypted. Our web hosting provider has data centres in the US, Europe (Ireland), Israel, as well as other jurisdictions. Due to the cloud-based nature of this service, your encrypted data may be sent via an overseas route, prior to being received by us in Australia.

We may collect, use and disclose your Personal Information for other purposes not listed in this Privacy Statement. If we do so, we will make it known to you at the time we collect or use your Personal Information.


Contacting you


You consent to us using your Personal Information for sending you information related to your accommodation booking. You also consent to us sending you such information by means of SMS message and phone call.

We will only send you marketing material if you have opted in to receive such material (e.g. via our accommodation booking form).

If you no longer want to receive marketing information from us, you can do so in any of the following ways:

  • by not giving consent for us to communicate with you through channels you are not comfortable receiving information through;

  • by clicking on the ‘Unsubscribe’ or subscription preferences link in a direct marketing email that you have received from us; or

  • by contacting us using the contact details at the end of this Privacy Statement.


Storage and security of Personal Information held by us


We aim to keep your Personal Information secure. Any Personal Information that is collected via our websites or which is held on our computer systems is protected by safeguards including physical, technical and procedural methods.

If we find that we no longer require or have no further need for your Personal Information we may de-identify it or remove it from our systems and destroy all record of it.


You can access and update your Personal Information


You are generally entitled to access Personal Information that we hold about you. If you request access to your Personal Information, in ordinary circumstances we will give you full access to your Personal Information. Depending on the nature of the request, however, we may need to charge an admin fee to cover the costs of accessing this information, however such charge will not be excessive.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that any Personal Information we collect and use is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
